I came across this unpublished draft today, and after reflecting on my day, I am reminded how faithfully God has aligned my daily plans with His purposes. While the situation I initially wrote about was in the past, today’s experience was different. I had a sizeable to-do list, which didn’t unfold exactly as I had planned. In fact, I only managed to accomplish two items on that list—one being my commitment to my Friday blog post. Still, I am grateful to God. His ways are higher than mine, and I pledge to hold my plans loosely, allowing room for Him to guide me.
At the start of each day, I pray: “Let all that I do today, Lord, be in alignment with Your plans.” This prayer has profoundly shaped my perspective, helping me approach each situation—whether joyful or challenging—with intentionality.
Take today, for example. I woke up feeling “off” and nearly skipped my usual morning walk. However, I pushed past my reluctance and walked anyway. Was feeling funky a sign that I wasn’t aligned with God’s plans? Reflecting on this moment, I see it differently. That sense of discomfort became an opportunity for me to remember my prayer and trust that even unexpected feelings and challenges fit within God’s broader plan for me.
I don’t believe God causes negative situations in our lives, but when they arise, how do we respond? Are we willing to see them through the lens of His purpose? Today, I remembered God’s Word, which encourages us to give thanks in everything—and I did. Perhaps His plan for my day was for me to practice gratitude and lean into lessons He was teaching me.
Beloved, let this be a reminder: when we pray for our plans to align with God’s, we must be prepared for both the highs and lows. This is not to suggest expecting the bad, but when challenges come, let us find the lessons they offer and give thanks anyway
Shalom,
Iamsosasmama ❤️
